Shereen Bar-or Becerra, LCAT, ATR-BC is a licensed and board-certified Creative Arts Therapist based in Brooklyn, New York. She works at the intersection of somatic therapy, neuroscience, and the expressive arts—inviting movement, creativity, and curiosity as powerful tools for healing and transformation. Her approach integrates critical and creative thinking, helping clients regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with their bodies, and build resilience from the inside out.
Shereen offers a collaborative and culturally attuned space where clients can explore identity, relationships, and personal growth with authenticity and compassion. As an Iranian-American Jewish therapist and first-generation daughter of immigrants, she brings a lived understanding of navigating multiple cultures, languages, and histories. Her work is deeply informed by third-culture experiences, and she supports individuals and couples through challenges intergenerational dynamics, cross-cultural relationships, and the transitions of early parenthood.
With experience across community programs, academic settings, foster care, and group practices, Shereen has seen how creative expression—can access truths beyond words. She believes that healing is both personal and collective, and that nervous system regulation, cultural awareness, and creative thinking are essential in fostering resilient networks.
